For years, we’ve known that the name “ClimatePlan” doesn’t fully capture the breadth of our coalition, or let us connect with all elements of our politically diverse state.

Transportation is the biggest contributor to California’s greenhouse gas emissions. So if the state’s going to reduce emissions, the state’s primary transportation agency needs to be focused on that goal.

California has big goals to fight climate change. But the current trend is that more Californians are driving longer distances. That’s bad for the climate and for all of us. The state has got to invest in more and better alternatives to driving, modernizing our transportation system to reflect our societal and economic goals.

The energy in LA’s Japanese American National Museum was palpable. The Live Ride Share conference was sold out and the room was jam-packed when Hasan Ikhrata kicked things off.
