This bill authorizes the city and county to form a Community Development and Housing Joint Powers Authority to carry out the provisions of the Community Redevelopment Law. The bill authorizes the authority to adopt a redevelopment plan for a project area and to include a provision in the plan to provide for tax increment financing. The bill would retain the Low and Moderate Income Housing Fund of a former redevelopment agency in another fund. Download an SB 1156 fact sheet. More info on SB 1156 here.
