The Future of Infill

Presented by the UC Berkeley and UCLA Schools of Law
What is the future of infill development in California in a time of limited public resources?  This event will discuss proposals to reinvent redevelopment agencies to bolster infill and to create new methods of financing infill infrastructure.  Speakers will also focus on recent efforts to streamline the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for infill projects and the implications of those for California’s downtowns. Education Opportunity: Overview of Integrated Land Use-Transportation Modeling for Sustainable Communities

Are you trying to understand the complexities of land use and transportation modeling and how it can best serve your community, your policy decisions and your investment priorities?  Join instructors Nathaniel Roth, UC Davis’ Urban Land Use and Transportation Center and Raef Porter, Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) for a new, one-day course that explores the current state of land use and transportation modeling for sustainable communities.  Geared towards  policymakers, and planning , transportation and environmental professionals  and advocates, this course will provide an overview of how land use and transportation models are used to address the biggest challenges of our time including climate change, resource quality and management, community design, infrastructure investment, economic development, and quality of life.  Click here to learn more and enroll.
